From a motocross obsession to the world's toughest rally. This is my journey to Dakar 2028.

Who I am
My name is Berend de Ruiter, I'm 26 years old and live in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. Alongside my career in accountancy, I have a strong passion for sports, entrepreneurship, and adventure. My driven, competitive mindset and constant pursuit of performance have ultimately led to one major goal: competing in the toughest rally race in the world, the Dakar Rally.
Achievements
Ever since I was four years old, I've been passionate about motorcycles and have achieved multiple successes in motocross, including several championships and podium finishes. I earned my MT-2 certification and now teach motocross to share my passion for the sport with others. Over the past few years, I've also become active in rally racing, where I've already achieved strong results, including winning the Rallye Breslau and Baja Europe.

Road to Dakar
To qualify for the Dakar Rally, I need to consistently and successfully finish the rallies in Morocco in order to earn the required 12 FIM points.
